Have a great summer!
The Music Library will be closed from Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 31, due to a temporary staff vacancy. The Albert M. Greenfield Library will be open during that time. Regular summer hours in the Music Library will resume on Monday, August 3.
The card catalogs, which have not been actively updated since 1993, are finally gone! They have been removed to make room for additional seating and a rearrangement of shelving units. Thanks to Pat Uditsky, Facilities, for removing the card catalogs and cabinets for us.
If anyone is interested in having some of the cards from the old catalog for art work, note paper, or even as memorabilia contact Carol Graney, director of libraries.
The Greenfield Library will be closed on Friday, July 31, for painting. Since the first floor of the library is two stories high, lifts must be used to prepare and paint the ceiling. We are sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we make improvements to the Greenfield Library facility. The “before” photograph shows the rusted pipes on the ceiling that must be scraped and painted. Can’t wait to share the “after” picture!
The Greenfield Library in Anderson Hall is getting a facelift this summer. Some shelving will be removed to create more seating space, additional electrical outlets and network ports will be installed, and painting will be done. In addition, we will be getting some new furniture on the first floor. This is all very exciting but there will be many inconveniences along the way. Please be patient with us and excuse our appearance as the improvements are made. We will try to keep the library open and the collections accessible as much as possible, however, there will be some closings which I will announce with as much advance notice as is possible. Stay tuned!
